The inspiration for this set was the poem "El rey de la mesnada," by the late Spanish poète maudit Leopoldo María Panero. It appeared in the 2008 collection _Esphera_.

El rey de la mesnada

La vida es una línea demacrada
Que gime ante la nada
Se arrodilla descalza ante la manada
Que es nada y menos que nada
Lo dijo el hereje Basílides
Quemado por la espada
¿Quién es el hombre que acehca a la nada?
